As Chairman of the Electrical Division for Session 2025/26, I am privileged to build upon the remarkable legacy established by my predecessors, with particular gratitude to Immediate Past Chairman Ir Banson Lam, whose leadership has set a standard of excellence.

Our Division stands at the forefront of progress, committed to driving innovation and nurturing the exceptional talent that will shape our profession’s future. Guided by the HKIE President’s theme, “Together We RISE (同心同創)”, we will continue to champion our flagship initiatives—such as the Annual Symposium, Energy Innovation for Smart City Competition, Electrical Model Design Contest, and Annual Dinner—while expanding professional development opportunities through seminars, courses, and technical visits.

We recognize that the strength of our field depends on investing in the next generation. To this end, we will enhance Young CONNECT programs, broaden our outreach to tertiary institutions, and cultivate STEM engagement among primary and secondary students. These efforts are designed to equip future engineers to thrive in an era of rapid technological advancement.

Looking towards the horizon, we are also laying the groundwork for the Division’s 50th anniversary in Session 2027-28—a milestone that will celebrate five decades of achievement, innovation, and service.

I call upon every member to join us in these endeavors. Together, we will advance the Electrical Division, foster a culture of excellence, and shape a resilient, innovative, and collaborative engineering community for generations to come.
