ReportTechnical Webinar: Major Changes of the Code of Practice (CoP) for the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations 2020 Edition and Introduction of EV-charging at Home Subsidy Scheme
The HKIE Electrical Division and Safety Specialist Committee as well as the IET Hong Kong co-organised an online technical webinar on the captioned topic on 23 September 2021.
Ir Johnson Sze, from Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, and Ir M K Lam, from CLP Power Hong Kong Limited acted as guest speakers for the webinar. This webinar received overwhelming response with about 600 participants attending concurrently.
The new Code of Practice (CoP) for the Electricity (Wiring) Regulations 2020 Edition was published at the end of 2020 and will be fully implemented on 31 December 2021. During the webinar, Ir Sze highlighted the major changes of the CoP between the 2015 and 2020 editions, explained reasons for the changes and provided real examples to illustrate the CoP requirements. After that, Ir Lam, introduced the Government’s EV-charging at Home Subsidy Scheme, provided practical solutions to install electric vehicle charging-enabled infrastructure in the car parks of private residential buildings and explained how the local power company can support the implementation of this scheme.
After the presentation, the question-and-answer session was actively participated by the attendees with fruitful discussion.
